Who we are

We are a collaborative team of gamers, writers and researchers. Everyone who contributes to GoldCrit takes part in the work: finding reliable information, checking the current state of a game, shaping the explanation and improving the final copy.

That shared approach lets us cover a range of games and player questions without pretending that one person has tested or experienced everything we discuss.

01 · Discover

We follow what is changing.

New launches, patches, demos, platforms and live-service systems can move quickly. We look for the developments that matter to players now.

02 · Research

We go back to the source.

Official game sites, support pages, developer updates, patch notes and platform listings come first. We separate confirmed facts from uncertainty.

03 · Explain

We make the next step clearer.

Our goal is useful context: what happened, what a system means, who a game fits and what a player should check before deciding.

What we publish

  • News: current releases, updates, announcements, demos and other developments, with dates and source attribution.
  • Reviews: evidence-based evaluations that explain strengths, trade-offs and which players may enjoy a game.
  • Features: comparisons, alternatives and discovery pieces that help readers find a better fit.
  • Guides: beginner orientation and practical system explanations, with recommendations only when the evidence supports them.

Meet the writers

GoldCrit's writers each lead a defined coverage area. Their bylines show who wrote an article, what they cover, and how they research and update their work.

News Writer

Ethan Cole

Ethan coolly chases the hottest gaming news and has probably played every game that once stole your weekend.

Beat: News — new releases, updates and announcements, demos, live-service developments.

Method: Ethan starts with the current event, checks the primary announcement or source, and separates confirmed facts from details that still need verification.

Reviews Writer

Mason Reed

Mason dissects every game’s highs, lows, and weird little habits to decide who should play it—and who should run.

Beat: Reviews — game reviews, strengths and trade-offs, player fit, systems and progression.

Method: Mason identifies what a game offers, compares its documented systems and presentation, and makes a conditional player-fit judgment without inventing testing or experience.

Features Writer

Ryan Brooks

Ryan hunts down your next gaming obsession, comparing worlds, systems, and vibes until the right match feels obvious.

Beat: Features — game discovery, comparisons, alternatives, play-style and platform fit.

Method: Ryan separates verified facts, official claims, and editorial recommendations, then explains which player each option suits and where the trade-offs sit.

Guides Writer

Alex Carter

Alex turns intimidating game systems into clear wins, with guides for players who would rather play than decipher menus.

Beat: Guides — beginner orientation, progression systems, platform and account setup, practical game procedures.

Method: Alex starts with the player question, verifies material claims against current sources, and states uncertainty rather than filling gaps with assumptions.

Our editorial promise

We do not invent testing, quotes, rewards, rankings, codes or game mechanics. Live-service details are checked again when a material change could affect the answer. When information is not confirmed, we say so instead of filling the gap with a guess.

Our editorial standards, sourcing approach and correction process are explained in How We Review.
