Who we are
GoldCrit.com ("GoldCrit", "we", "us", or "our") is a gaming editorial website. If you have a privacy question or want to make a data request, contact us at hello@goldcrit.com.
Information we may collect
We collect only the information needed to operate GoldCrit and provide the features described on the site. Depending on how you use the site, this may include:
- Newsletter information: your email address when subscribing. The newsletter endpoint sends this address to Resend to manage the subscription.
- Contact information: your name, email address, message and any details you include when you send an email or use the static mailto contact form. The contact form does not submit data to a GoldCrit web endpoint before you choose to send the message.
- Technical and measurement information: limited request, browser, device, page and interaction information that Cloudflare and configured measurement providers may process for delivery, security, attribution and advertising or conversion measurement. Advertising identifiers may include values such as
gclid,gbraid,wbraid,msclkid,rdt_cid,mediago_tracking_idandmgid_click_idwhen they are present in a landing URL.
GoldCrit does not require an account to read the site. Please do not send sensitive personal information through a contact form or email.
How we use information
- to deliver, secure and maintain the website;
- to process the newsletter subscription you requested;
- to respond to questions, feedback and privacy requests; and
- to measure advertising attribution, affiliate clicks and approved conversions through browser tags, first-party attribution and server-side conversion measurement; and
- to meet legal obligations.
Hosting, measurement, newsletter and external destinations
GoldCrit uses or links to the following service categories, depending on the page and current configuration:
- Cloudflare for hosting, delivery, security and technical reliability.
- Google Tag Manager to load configured measurement and advertising tags, including Google Ads conversion measurement.
- Microsoft Advertising UET for advertising and conversion measurement.
- Meta/Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, Taboola, MGID and Outbrain for configured advertising, campaign or conversion measurement.
- Cloudflare Insights for configured site-performance and usage measurement.
- Resend to process newsletter subscriptions on our behalf.
- External destinations when you follow a link to a game's official website, app store or another destination.
Google's processing is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Microsoft may collect or receive personal data from users or from GoldCrit through Microsoft Advertising technologies, including UET and conversion measurement, in order to provide Microsoft Advertising services. See the Microsoft Privacy Statement for more information.
These providers may process data in countries outside your own. Their processing is governed by their own privacy notices and terms. Provider lists and configurations can change as GoldCrit’s services develop; this page will be updated when a material change affects how information is used.
Cookies and similar technologies
The current implementation uses Cloudflare technical mechanisms, configured provider tags and first-party attribution cookies. Configured providers may receive relevant page, device, interaction and attribution information when their tags or server-side conversion mechanisms are used. Provider technologies may process information according to their own services and privacy notices.
When an eligible landing URL contains attribution values, GoldCrit may set goldcrit_google_attribution and goldcrit_ad_attribution. These first-party cookies are configured for 30 days, with HttpOnly, Secure on HTTPS, SameSite=Lax and Path=/. They preserve identifiers such as gclid, gbraid, wbraid, msclkid, rdt_cid, mediago_tracking_id and mgid_click_id for affiliate attribution, tracked /go/* redirects and server-side conversion measurement. Provider scripts may also set or read provider-controlled cookies or use similar technologies under their own notices.
Browser settings can block or delete some cookies, but they may not control every measurement technology or server-side processing. Blocking technical or attribution cookies may affect site functionality or measurement. External destinations may set their own cookies after you leave GoldCrit.
Legal bases where applicable
For visitors covered by data-protection laws such as the GDPR or UK GDPR, the legal basis for processing depends on the purpose, provider and applicable law. Where applicable law requires consent for advertising or measurement technologies, consent may be required. Other processing may rely on legitimate interests, contractual necessity or legal obligations where applicable.
External and affiliate links
GoldCrit links to official game sites, stores and other third-party destinations. A tracked /go/* redirect may record an affiliate click and placement server-side and pass an internal click reference to the affiliate destination. Available attribution identifiers may be read from the first-party attribution cookies described above. When you leave GoldCrit, the destination controls its own data practices. If a page contains an affiliate link, the relationship is identified near the relevant link. The destination may use its own cookies or tracking under its own privacy policy and terms.
Sharing and international transfers
We share relevant page, device, interaction and attribution information with configured advertising and measurement providers when their tags or server-side delivery paths are used, including Google, Microsoft Advertising, Meta/Facebook, Reddit, TikTok, Taboola, MGID, Outbrain and Cloudflare. We also share information with service providers when needed for the purposes described above, with professional advisers when necessary, or when required by law. We do not share contact or newsletter information with unrelated third parties for their own independent marketing.
Because GoldCrit is available worldwide and our providers may operate internationally, information can be processed outside the country where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, to honour your choices, to resolve disputes, or to meet legal and security requirements.
- Newsletter information is sent to Resend to manage the subscription. Retention and unsubscribe handling for that provider record follow the provider's settings and policies.
- Contact messages are kept for as long as reasonably necessary to respond and maintain business records.
- First-party attribution cookies are configured to expire after 30 days.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to certain processing of your personal information, or request data portability. To make a request, email hello@goldcrit.com. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request and will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Children’s privacy
GoldCrit is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact hello@goldcrit.com so we can review and remove it where appropriate.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure, so please avoid sending sensitive information through the site.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when our services, providers or legal obligations change. The effective and last-updated dates at the top of this page show which version applies. Material changes will be reflected here before or when they take effect where required.
Contact and deletion requests
For questions, access requests, corrections or deletion requests, contact hello@goldcrit.com. Please describe the information or interaction involved so we can locate the relevant record.
